Waller Creek Tunnel Initial Study, Austin, Texas

Initial evaluation of the flood threat along Waller Creek in downtown Austin wherein approximately 40 acres of prime downtown property were found to be located within the FEMA 100-year regulatory floodplain. Project resulted in recommendation for construction of a 5,200 linear foot, 24-ft diameter flow diversion tunnel. Project construction completed in 2015 ($150 million).
